Isolated DAQ and control boards for PCI Express

Ever since Meilhaus Electronic introduced a new software driver system for the DAQ and control boards from their own development pipeline in mid-2007, all new designs are devoted to cross-platform compatibility. No matter whether for PCI, CompactPCI/PXI, USB, Ethernet, or now for the new PCI Express: The DAQ and control boards, which are available in various versions for different platforms, are completely compatible regarding port pinouts, functionality and software. Now for the first time the widely-used ME-FoXX ME-46xx models (isolated 16-bit universal DAQ boards), the ME-630 model (a relay and universal digital board), and the ME-8200 model (a high-drive opto-digital board) are also available for x2 PCI Express.

The multifunctional 16-bit ME-FoXX ME-46xx DAQ and control board offers 16-bit analog inputs and outputs, digital I/O and counter. Featuring opto-isolation on all channels and numerous options and extras, the board is ideal for many industrial and lab applications. Alongside the new model for PCI Express, the board can also be used for PCI, CompactPCI/PXI and can be combined with the ME-Synapse (an adapter for the CompactPCI models) for USB or Ethernet/LAN.

The ME-630 board is "digitally multi-talented", combining relay, opto-digital channels and TTL digital channels on one board. This board can also be used for PCI, CompactPCI/PXI and can be combined with the ME-Synapse (an adapter for the CompactPCI models) for USB or Ethernet/LAN. In addition, Meilhaus Electronic offers a "native" USB variant under the MEphisto Switch designation.

Where opto-isolated digital channels are required with a higher level than the usual 24V, the ME-8200 board is the right choice. Its opto I/Os work with a level of 50V at an isolation up to 500V and a load of up to 700mA. Additional TTL digital I/Os add to the board’s functionality. Anlongside the versions for PCI Express, PCI, CompactPCI/PXI and together with the ME-Synapse for USB or Ethernet/LAN, there is also a "native" USB variant of this board, which is available under the MEphisto Opto designation.

All models are supported by the new ME-iDS driver system for Windows and Linux, that allows programming of the boards in the C++, Visual Basic, VEE Pro, LabVIEW and Python programming environments. More options are under development.
Availability of the PCI Express models is planned for spring 2008.

Inexpensive multifunctional instrument for the shop floor, maintenance and service

Handheld Scope and Multimeter in one instrument: RedHand Scope

Meilhaus Electronic’s RedHand Scope is the ideal solution if you need a multipurpose, portable instrument for field services, which combines an oscilloscope, 3 ¾-digits digital multimeter and a data logger in one instrument, and which meets all your requirements in maintenance and service applications or for the commissioning of machinery. It sits securely in the hand and is non-slip. The attractive carrying case is extremely rugged and can be locked. It provides all accessories necessary for your everyday work with the instrument. The data acquired can be transmitted to a PC via a USB port if required. The Windows software for the transfer is included in the delivery package. The 2-channel instrument is available in two variants: with a 20MHz-bandwidth and a sample rate of 100MS/s, or a 60MHz-bandwidth and a sample rate of 250MS/s. The RedHand Scope provides edge and video triggering functions. It offers 5 automatic measuring modes with menu navigation in several languages. Its maximum memory depth is 6K per channel.

The instrument can be operated either from a lithium-ion battery or a mains adapter (both included in delivery). The instrument complies with all applicable standards (CE, CSA, UL, CAT III) and has independently floating isolated scope and DMM channels. The extra-bright display and keypad backlight provide good readability and comfortable operation even under poor lighting conditions. RedHand Scopes are supplied complete with carrying case and accessories at prices starting from 790 Euros.
