Subject: | Ready-to-use software for data acquisition and output with Meilhaus Electronic DAQ and control boards. Virtual DAQ lab, virtual instruments, based on the driver system ME-iD |
The software ME-PowerLab2 is a collection of virtual instruments for the ME series DAQ and control boards designed by Meilhaus Electronic. Using the ME-PowerLab2 and ME DAQ boards, first measurements can quickly be started and data can be output without any programming. The software can automatically identify the ME board(s) in the PC. Functions are available depending on whether they are supported by the board/hardware. For example, the universal 16 bit/500 kHz multifunctional board ME-FoXX ME-4680 can use nearly all ME-PowerLab2 functions, whereas a digital interface board (eg. ME-8200) cannot use the functions for analog channels. ME-PowerLab2 for Windows includes the virtual instruments volt meter (with pointer an digit display), oscilloscope, data logger, signal generator, digital I/O, counter and pulse width modulation (PWM).
ME-PowerLab2 is based on the ME-iDS (intelligent driver system) for the Meilhaus Electronic DAQ boards.
ME-iDS simplifies and standardizes the programming of all supported ME boards and devices. The driver system offers a consistent programming interface across all ME devices and various software development environments and operating systems. In simplified terms the concept of the ME-iDS is an "interplay" of questions and answers between software and hardware. The software can query all supported devices about their components and properties. In a next step this information is used to access certain functional groups of the hardware ("subdevices"). These subdevices are analog acquisition, analog output, digital input/output (including opto I/O and relays), counters and external interrupt. A variety of programming examples demonstrates how to use the driver systems with the supported languages and programming environments (C/C++, C#, Visual Basic, Python, VEE Pro, LabVIEW).
The ME-iDS as well as ME-PowerLab2 are free, and included with the supported ME DAQ boards.
