Models PicoScope PS5242D, PS5243D, PS5244D, PS5442D, PS5443D, PS5444D

The PicoScope 5000D series includes advanced USB 3.0 SuperSpeed (compatible with USB 2.0) PC oscilloscopes with unique FlexRes technology. FlexRes means that the resolution can be selected between 8, 12, 14, 15, and 16 bit as required. This allows optimization of the inputs either for high sampling rates up to 1 GS/s at 8 bit, or for high resolution 16 bit at 62.5 MS/s, or other combinations in between. PicoScope 5000D series instruments have 2 or 4 analog channels. The bandwidth of the devices is 60, 100, or 200 MHz. Advanced triggers are available for the analog and digital channels. PicoScope 5000D Series oscilloscopes have waveform capture memory up to 512 MS enabling the capture of long-duration waveforms at maximum sampling speed. PicoScope's DeepMeasure tool uses the deep memory to analyze every cycle contained in each triggered waveform acquisition. It displays results in a table, with the parameter fields shown in columns and waveform cycles shown in rows. Serial decoding and analysis are included as standard.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Question: Why flexible resolution?

Answer: If you purchase a current standard oscilloscope, it will most likely be specified with a resolution of 8 bit. In the age of digital signals, manufacturers are emphasizing fast sample rates and high bandwidths at standard 8 bit resolution. However, some signals from the "analog world" require higher resolutions at often lower required bandwidths and sample rates (for example audio signals, vibration analysis and many more). Here, the focus is on improved dynamic range, lower noise, and reduced distortion. The PicoScope 4000A series offers 12-bit resolution for such applications. However, this resolution is fixed. With the FlexRes technology, you get the "best of both worlds" in one instrument: The oscilloscope hardware can be reconfigured to optimize for either sampling rate (fast at 8 bits) or resolution (up to 16 bits, slower) and stages inbetween. So if you need to capture both types of sinals, the PicoScope 5000D models are the ideal solution.

Question: Do the Picoscope 5000D oscilloscopes also work with the PicoScope6 software?

Answer: Yes, like all standard Pico Technology oscilloscopes, the PiscoScope 5000D units work with the PicoScope6 software and SDK. FlexRes technology is supported by the software. PicoScope6 also offers a huge range of features as standard, such as advanced triggers, serial decoding and mask limit testing.

Question: Can I switch the language in PicoScope6, for example to German?

Answer: Yes, PicoScope6 can be switched to several languages, including of course German, English, French and many more. The switching is done in the software (Tools >> Preferences >> Regional&Language >> Language). The detailed PDF manuals are also available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Chinese in most cases.
