BRT Systems Product Line - Sense, Monitor, Control

BRTSys offers a broad variety of Modbus devices including environmental sensors, water-quality and process-quality sensor adapters, relays, I/O controllers and lighting dimmers. These devices all communicate over Modbus RTU via RS485, enabling integration into building-management systems (BMS), process controllers, IoT gateways, and wireless bridges (for communication via protocols such as LoRaWAN).
There are three main categories of Modbus devices from BRTSys encompassing a range of use cases:

BRTSys Modbus Series Sensors, Adaptors, Controllers Applications

Smart Buildings/Commercial Offices/Public Buildings

Deploy multi-parameter room sensors (temperature, humidity, motion, light, CO₂, IAQ, VOC ) for occupancy detection, energy-efficient HVAC, demand-controlled ventilation, and lighting. Combine with relay modules or dimmers to control lighting and ventilation equipment based on building occupancy and air quality.

Water Treatment, Aquaculture, Environmental Monitoring

Use pH, EC, Salinity, ORP, DO, and other sensor adapters to monitor hydroponics and aquaculture nutrient tanks, or filtration systems, water quality in treatment plants. Connect via Modbus to a central controller for real-time monitoring, alarms, logging, and automated control (e.g. dosing pumps, aeration, valves).

Industrial Process Control and Automation

For manufacturing, process plants, labs - use thermocouple adapters, isolated I/O controllers, and relays to integrate legacy sensors or actuators into a unified Modbus-based control architecture. This reduces complexity and improves maintainability.

Smart Lighting/Building Automation/Hospitality

Employ Modbus-enabled dimmers and relay modules to control lighting loads such as LED luminaires. Integrate motion or ambient-light sensors for automated adjustment. Benefit from energy savings, centralized control, and smooth dimming (via trailing-edge dimmers).

Connecting the BRTSys Series via Modbus

All BRTSys Modbus devices connect via a convenient terminal block interface, providing both Modbus RS485 data and power. The devices themselves feature RJ11 or JST connectors and are supplied with a compact RS485 Modbus adapter with 30-cm cable. This uniformity simplifies wiring and maintenance.

On the Modbus side, this interface accepts RS485 signals along with the typical 9...24 V power supply used on Modbus networks via the terminal block. On the sensor/actuator side, the interface features a JST or RJ11 connector to match the sensor or actuator, which provides a stable 5  power supply via the regulator in the interface cable.
