Red-MU-DMS Strain Gauge Measurement Amplifier

The devices of the strain gauge amplifier series Red-MU-DMS are used to connect to strain gauge full bridges in 6 wire-technique, with sensitivities from 0.2 mV/V to 40 mV/V to convert into a norm signal 0...±10 V, 0...±20 mA or 4...20 mA. It is possible to use bridges with a load resistance of =120 Ω. You can connect more than one bridge in parallel as long as the complete resistance is more than 120 Ω.

Based on the bipolar output, compressive and tension force can be measured. If you need to measure compressive and tension force, but you have no bipolar analogue input in your system the DIP-switch S1-9, can be set to "on". The output of the Red-MU-DMS is now set to unipolar output. Negative input force = 0 V/0 mA out and positive force = 10 V/20 mA out, force zero = 5 V/10 mA. The bridge supply voltage is selectable via DIP-switches between 5 V and 10 V. By the external sense lines of the bridge supply is guaranteed even if lines are long, that a constant voltage is applied to the strain gauge sensor and thus there is a high measurement accuracy. To adjust the zero point and the gain, there are two 20-turn spindle-operated potentiometers for coarse and fine adjusting. In addition to these potentiometers DIP-switches are used to set the coarse gain. The output signal and the transmission frequency is set by DIP-switch too. The units are in a 22.5 mm housing which can be snapped onto TS35 mounting rail.
