Frequently Asked Questions:
Question: What are CDNs and what are they used for?
Answer: CDN stands for Coupling Decoupling Network.
CDNs are used for testing conducted EMC immunity in accordance with IEC-61000-4-6 and for emission tests in accordance with CISPR and EN requirements. They allow common mode interference to be coupled into the cabling of a DUT (coupling) and removed before the auxiliary equipment used (decoupling). CDNs ensure that these interference signals do not interfere with the auxiliary devices connected to the DUT. CDNs designed for conducted RF testing are most commonly used for IEC 61000-4-6 testing and are the preferred injection method.
