Digilent Artix-7 Series FPGA Development and Trainer Board
Digilent USB104 A7
The Digilent USB104 A7 FPGA board works with the Xilinx Artix-7 XC7A100T and is designed for use in the industrial temperature range of -40...+100°C. The board also has a SYZYGY port for high-speed data acquisition with Zmod expansion modules. This allows users to quickly develop and run customized FPGA-based data acquisition and signal processing applications on embedded systems. Ideal application areas include industrial automation, embedded OEM, telecommunications and mil-aero.
The Digilent USB104 A7 has the same mounting dimensions as the PC/104 form factor. The inputs and outputs are equipped with on-board LEDs and push-buttons. The SYZYGY-compatible Zmod extension is supplemented by three 12-pin Pmod ports. An integrated USB hub and controller connects the USB104 A7 to JTAG, UART and a parallel data port (DPTI) via a single connection. The DPTI data transfer interface enables host-to-FPGA data transfer and is easily managed with Digilent's Adept 2 application.
Extensions
- Pmod Expansion: Pmod devices are small I/O interface boards that provide an ideal way to expand the capabilities of programmable logic and embedded control boards. Developed by Digilent and used throughout the industry, the Pmod standard has become one of the most widely used expansion standards for rapid prototyping with FPGA development boards.
- Zmod Extension: Zmod is an additional extension solution from Digilent that utilizes the open source SYZYGY standard from Opal Kelly. Faster than the Pmod standard and more compact and cost-effective than FMC, Zmods improve customization options for high-speed measurement and I/O.
Digilent Basys 3
The FPGA trainer board Basys 3 is ideal for getting started with FPGA technology. It is an entry-level development board based on an AMD Artix 7 FPGA. As a complete and ready-to-use development platform for digital circuits, it contains enough switches, LEDs and other I/O devices to enable a large number of designs without additional hardware. There are also enough free FPGA I/O pins to extend designs with Digilent Pmods or other customized boards and circuits. The Basys 3 was developed exclusively for the AMD Vivado Vivado Design Suite, and the Standard Edition is available as a free download from AMD.
