PicoScope PicoBNC+ NVH Diagnostics Kit
NVH = Noise + Vibration + Harshness. Acoustic or haptic phenomena in a vehicle that are perceived by a passenger and reduce ride comfort.
The PicoBNC+ NVH Diagnostics Kit is a valuable tool for analyzing NVH issues in vehicles. It is based on the Pico Automotive Scopes, uses your laptop for display, and combines fast acquisition and analysis of vehicle data with a clear and easy-to-understand presentation of the results.
Tycal Applications of the PicoScope PicoBNC+ NVH Diagnostics Kit
Customer complaints about noise and vibration in vehicles are based on subjective perceptions that are often difficult to describe. This presents a major challenge for technicians in the workshop even before the actual diagnosis and troubleshooting begin. With the PicoBNC+ NVH Diagnostics Kit, the vehicle can be quickly and easily tested on the road together with the customer, and the NVH perception can be verified and analyzed. The collected data can be analyzed and compared with previously collected data from fault-free vehicles.
- Measure
Accelerometers and microphones capture vibration and sound data during a road test or static run-up. - Identify
The software matches frequencies to vehicle components - wheels, engine orders, propshaft, bearings - and tells you which one is responsible. - Confirm
Objective data replaces subjective opinion. Show the customer the measurement, compare against a known-good baseline, and proceed with confidence. - Verify
After the repair, re-test with the same setup. The data proves the fix worked - to you and to the customer.
Faster set-up. Fewer test cycles. Better results.
Every vibration carries a specific frequency, and that frequency reveals its source. The software handles the correlation, giving you a clear, direct result.
- Twelve axes, one test
Each three-axis accelerometer measures longitudinal, lateral, and vertical vibrations via a single PicoScope channel. With four accelerometers connected to a four-channel scope, you can capture data from all corners of the vehicle in a single road test - eliminating the need for multiple runs and reconfiguration. - Simple connection, quick setup
The PicoBNC+ NVH system requires no extra leads or hardware. Just connect the probe to a BNC+ port on the PicoScope oscilloscope and you're ready to begin. - Zero configuration
Automatic probe recognition detects each sensor as it's connected and applies the correct settings instantly. There's no need to manually input probe types or sensitivity values, reducing setup errors and improving reliability. - No batteries required
PicoBNC+ NVH probes operate without batteries, so there's no risk of power loss before a test. You won't need to manage replacements or deal with maintenance downtime—the probes are always ready to use. - No registration needed
Use the system straight out of the box with any automotive PicoBNC+ PicoScope - no activation codes required.
