Probes enable you to transmit signals from a test object/measurement point to the oscilloscope accurately and without interference. High-quality probes ensure that this first link in your measurement chain works precisely, reliably, and safely. They ensure optimal adaptation to your oscilloscope.

Many oscilloscopes have additional connections for probe detection on the BNC input sockets. Using contact pin coding, compatible probe models are able to tell the oscilloscope which division is connected. The oscilloscope and probes used must be from the same manufacturer or be compatible. Of course, other probes can also be used with BNC only, but they will not benefit from this additional convenience.
