The Rigol DS8000-R series is based on the UltraVision-II technology of the MSO8000 series and packs it into a space-saving 1U module. The core of the UltraVision-II architecture is the Phoenix chipset with two ASICs developed by Rigol that form the analog front-end and handle the signal processing. The bandwidth of the DS8000-R series is 350 MHz to 2 GHz (optional bandwidth expansion) with a maximum sampling rate of 10 GS/s. Multiple modules can be cascaded together with a synchronization module as a multiple measurement device with up to 512 analog input channels. A basic module has four analog input channels plus an external trigger input and an (optional) 25 MHz arbitrary generator output.
