This PC board is a good choice, if you need a multitude of channels for industrial switching and/or the acquisition of digital statuses: It has 128 digital I/O lines, grouped in 32 bit ports. Each port can be programmed as input or output. You can add opto-isolation or relays for all channels, using optional external DIN rail modules!
The ME-5310 is the modern replacement for the ME-1000 for the PCI-Express-based bus-platform PCIe. The board's connector and functionality is fully compatible with the ME-1000. If the driver system ME-iDS is used, there is also software compatibility. Use the ME-1001 to get access to all 128 channels.

Question: Who is the ME-5310 recommended for?
Answer: In principle, the ME-5310 is a modernised new edition of the Meilhaus Electronic ME-1000. The ME-1000 was launched in 1999 for the StandardPCI and 3U CompactPCI bus and has been discontinued/EOL for some time.
Like the ME-1000 at the time, the ME-5310 offers 128 digital I/O channels grouped into 4x 32-bit ports. Each port can be configured as an input or output. The modernised ME-3510 is designed for the x1 PCI Express bus. It is optimised for Windows 11 and uses an improved architecture with the latest components/FPGA.
The decision to reissue the card was based on a simple reason: even though complex measurement technology up to the RF range currently dominates everything, industrial process control and automation often require very simple switching operations on many channels. In other words, simple on, off or switching and output/input of bit patterns. A digital I/O card such as the ME-5310 is ideal for this purpose. And that is why the basic function of the card was deliberately kept simple. For more complex digital I/O applications, Meilhaus Electronic offers models such as the ▸ME-5820 (opto-isolation, counters, special functions) and others.
As a PCI Express plug-in card that fits directly into the PC, the ME-5310 operates without the overhead of protocols such as USB. Thanks to the SDK (Software Development Kit), software developers, OEMs and system integrators can easily design the card into Windows-based systems.
